The Last Time

Lea managed to travel to the North, moving across the vast distance of land at a much shorter pace compared to others who would attempt the journey. Her quest had brought her back to the place where she was birthed, she looked into the ground where the ritual took place. She picked up the dirt and looked around the area, searching for a clue as to why she was being directed back here. Suddenly, a stirring could be heard and the ground kicked up. The ground began to shake as she turned around to look at Kali, who had followed her this entire time.

"Did you hear that?" Lea asked "Something is coming"

Lea instantly transformed into her battle form, her skin paled and her eyes turned yellow, crimson veins appeared on her neck and face, stemming from her pure black armor. Lea summoned her version of Lucifer, the black blade poised and ready for battle.

[Kali]

Kali readied herself at her sister's warning, she herself prepared her battle mode. In a blast of energy, Kali was cascaded with shiny silver armor adorned with blue cloth. Kali's version of Lucifer appeared in her hands, the shiny golden blade pierced through the darkness of the night.

"Whoever you are" Kali began "Show yourself"

As if on command, a flash of white light appeared, sending Kali and Lea flying. When the light disappeared, there stood a young man. He had brown hair with a long ponytail, his clothes, but wore armored greaves and a single glove on his left arm that went up to his elbow. He had a katana on his side and he stood with an aura of familiarity. Kali felt as if she had seen him before, but couldn't recall.

"Hello my children" The man said smiling "You have finally come to complete the quest"

"Who are you?" Kali asked

Lea was sent flying along with Kali and landed with a grunt, she quickly rose to glare at the source of the light. Lea's face paled as a look of surprise came across her face. She couldn't believe her eyes, she couldn't believe who had just appeared before them.

"You!" Lea gasped "What are you doing here?"

Lea rose her sword and readied to attack, she pointed the end towards the man. Her eyes were confused and angry.

"What are you doing here Kaluoshen?!!" Lea demanded

Kaluoshen could only smile as he looked at his clone, she was a lot different then he thought she was, he had only little knowledge of the twins.

"In order to complete your mission, you will need more than just your power to win, and in order to get the last piece, you must complete challenges" Kaluoshen explained

Lea charged and jumped into the air, putting her power into dropping a large amount of force down on Kaluoshen, aiming to chop him in half. Kaluoshen instantly raised his sword to block, stopping it short of hitting him. Kaluoshen smiled again at his clone, she was strong, but not strong enough.

"Nice try Lea" Kaluoshen smiled, moving his sword into as slant as to guide Lea's sword to the side. As Lea lost her balance, her face met with Kaluoshen's right foot as he span and gave her a powerful kick, sending her flying to the side. "But it is gonna take a lot more than one shots to beat me"

(Health - 10)

[Kali]

Kali was surprised to learn that the man in front of her was in fact her former self. What he was doing in the land of the living, she had no idea, but she didn't have anymore time to think about it, as Lea charged to attack Kaluoshen. Kali was surprised that Lea was repelled so easily and came to her sister's aid. Kali came in a forward attack and wrapped her blade with electricity, letting out a horizontal slash, attacking the opening created when he kicked Lea.

Kaluoshen somehow managed to move his sword into the way, from what she could as a rocket at the end. Kaluoshen then reached behind his back and pulled out a large gun-like weapon, letting out a couple of shots. Kali jumped back in order to dodge the attack, one grazing her cheek as she retreated. Kaluoshen clapped his hands as he grinned.

"Well done, an excellent approach Kali" Kaluoshen applauded "Now it is my turn"

Kaluoshen posed himself in a position that indicated that he was about to make a stabbing motion, using the once gun, now turned sword. But with the distance that Kali had made between them, even that would fall short. Kaluoshen made his stabbing attack, and much to Kali's surprise, she was stabbed in the gut by a blade of energy that shot out from the sword. Kali was sent back, completely caught off-guard by Kaluoshen's attack. She had no idea what kind of magic Kaluoshen used, his aura didn't make it clear. Kali gripped her stomach and concentrated on stopping the bleeding.

Kali looked towards Lea and attempted a mind link, when the connection reached, Kali relayed a message.

Nee-san, attacking him with repeated slashes and distract him while I try and get him with Excalibur

(Health - 30 Mana - 60)

Lea nodded at her sister's plan, they had to try and do something. Despite Kaluoshen's skill, they were as powerful as he was, and there were two of them and only one of him.

Alright, make sure you don't take too long

Lea came rushing in to attack Kaluoshen, letting loose a barrage of slashes. Lea's only goal was to make sure that she hit him and she wasn't hit, she didn't aim to kill, she left that to Kali. Kaluoshen dodged Lea's rapid attacks, blocking a few here and there and taking minor slashes from being unable to match his clone's speed. Kaloushen managed to hit Lea's sword in a way that made her sword arm fly off, but she then grabbed his arm and charged energy into her own sword, ready to unleash her own finishing move.

"EXCALIBUR!!!" Lea said as she slashed towards Kaluoshen.

However, Kaluoshen grabbed Lea's wrist before the attack hit and redirected it harmlessly away from himself. Lea called out to Kali through a mental message, missing her chance, but giving Kali one.

NOW!!!

(Mana - 120)

[Kali]

Kali sneaked around behind Kaluoshen as he was distracted by Lea, and attempted to slash him with her own sword, filling it with magic and preparing for another grand attack. Kaluoshen spotted Kali when unconsciously looked in her sister's direction, giving him enough warning. Kaluoshen manipulated Lea and his own center of gravity and moved Lea's sword in the way. The swords clashed, both filled with the power of the Excalibur attack, but due to not being fired off, both were canceled out and sending Kali back into the air.

Kaluoshen smiled at Kali as he turned around and threw Lea towards her.

(Mana - 120)

Lea was flung into the air, soaring like a bullet as she crashed into her sister. Lea held Kali close as she began sending another message.

Alright I'm going to hit him again, this time you hit him from afar with Gungnir, he doesn't look like he has a too powerful of a ranged weapon.

Using the force of her body being thrown, Lea span herself and Kali around, sending each of them in opposite directions. Lea came soaring back to slash at Kaluoshen again, while Kali was sent farther back in order for the plan to work. Kaluoshen clashed swords with Lea again, he was still getting damaged, but still he was dodging fatal or crippling blows, taking only the minor attacks. Lea charged another attack into her sword, shaking the ground with the force, Lea let loose a powerful slash. Kaluoshen blocked the attack once again, but began to crumble under the force behind it. However, before Lea was able to strike again, she was struck from behind from what seemed like an arrow, but with the force of a cannon ball. Lea flew from the force and was sent to her knees, she looked back to find the source and located a woman with red hair, with a bow in hand.

"Elena!" Lea grunted past the gasp of pain she felt. Lea then returned her attention to Kaluoshen, who had picked up the situation quickly and gave Lea another kick to the face, hitting harder than before, sending her even farther than before and high into the air. Lea was greeted when she opened her eyes, was the image of Kaluoshen coming down with a large buster sword, slamming the back edge of the sword into her gut and sending her crashing to the ground.

(Mana - 60 Health - 100)

[Kali]

Kali was sent a large distance away, and prepared her attack on Kaluoshen. She observed the fight between Lea and Kaluoshen, and to her it looked like she didn't need Kali's help. But when Lea was attacked by a woman with red hair from behind, Kali ran to her sister's aid.

"LEA!!!" Kali called out to her, but was stopped short by a hand grabbing her shoulder. Kali turned around to meet the eyes of a white haired woman, with a massive stone axe-sword in one hand. "Who are you?! Let me go!"

"Calm down Kali" The woman said

"What are you talking abo-!" Kali began, but was then hit on the gut by the woman's sword. Sending her crashing into a tree, knocking the trunk so hard that it broke and fell. The woman walked up to Kali, stepping on her wound. Kali screamed in pain, looking up at the woman.

"You don't have enough time to think about others" The woman said "You need to worry about yourself"

Kali didn't know who she was, but once again Kali felt the sense of familiarity. Kali was picked up and dragged off to her sister's side. The twins, both bloody and tired, lay next to each other, defeated. Kali looked up at the group that defeated them. Kali knew that she felt a familiar feeling from them, but she didn't know the reason why.

Nee-san, who are these people?

Kali clutched her gut, once again she had received a wound and was in great pain. She could barely hold onto her blade and used it as a supporting cane. Blood gushed out of her and onto her armor, the crimson blood sliding down the shining steel armor. Kali and Lea were caught off guard, they underestimated Kaluoshen and assumed he was alone, now they were paying for it.

(Health - 80)

Lea picked herself up, her entire body racking with pain. She looked up at the group in front of them, the team that had beaten them with little damage done to them. Normally, Kali and Lea would be more resistant to damage, but due to Kaluoshen's Aether Element, Kali and Lea were more susceptable to the damage. Lea looked at Kali, not bothering with establishing another mental link.

"They are the group of Kaluoshen, they are our family" Lea said grinning past the pain. "I thought they were dead, I guess I was wrong"

Lea raised her sword again, her body had healed enough for her to begin fighting again, but she still felt the pain. But when Lea took a step forward, Kaluoshen stuck out his hand in a sign of stop.

"Enough Lea" Kaluoshen said firmly "You've suffered enough, but if we are enough to defeat you, then you need to improve if you wish to get the last piece of the Eden's Apple"

Lea growled angrily at Kaluoshen. No words, just a gutteral sound, created from her pain and anger.

"Shut up! We are more powerful than you, you didn't fight fair" Lea said angrily

Kaluoshen moved his finger from side to side while clicking his tongue.

"There is no such thing as a fair fight Lea, we took advantage of you assumption, nothing more than strategy, or cowardice, which ever you prefer, either way they are the same. Strength and skill are completely different things Lea" Kaluoshen scolded his clone "But if you want to have a fair fight..."

Kaluoshen's supporters disappeared in a flash of light, suddenly a large creature emerged from the light, engulfed in flame. The creature let out a roar, strong enough to blow away the earth around it. The creature was Kaluoshen, as a lizardman.

"Then try me on for size!" Kaluoshen said in a growling, snarling reptilian voice.

Kaluoshen lunged at Lea, slashing down on her with his damascus blade. Lea managed to bring her sword up in order to block Kaluoshen's attack. She underestimated his physical strength and was sent back by the force.

Dammit, I forgot, he's as strong as me, maybe even stronger at the moment

Lea charged at Kaluoshen, locking blades with the lizardman, sparks flying from their trading blows. Kaluoshen jumped into the air and pulled out his bow, letting loose a powerful arrow straight for Lea's head. Lea managed to deflect the arrowhead, saving herself a nasty injury. Kaluoshen then threw his head back for a deep breath and let loose a torrent of fire at Lea. Lea sliced through the fire by launching a blade made of pure water staight at the lizardman. Kaluoshen blocked the blade of water with his sword and was pushed back a couple of meters. Kaluoshen crouched down, on arm placed on the ground and the other holding his sword in an inverted fashion behind his back. Lea herself crouched down, ready to attack. At that point, both launched themselves forward and continued to clash again and again.

(Mana - 60)

[Kali]

Kali watched her sister take on the lizardman by herself, helpless due to the wound she had sustained. Kali leaned on her sword, the blood that had gotten on her hand dripped down the golden blade and hilt. Kali saw that Lea was having a hard time, but with her power, Lea should be able to survive. Kali focused her power on healing herself, trying to get into fighting condition fast in order to help Lea. However, something inside of Kali's mind clicked, she wondered why the spectres of the past came to them, something about it was off.

What could be the cause of this? Kali thought to herself.

Kali managed to limp herself over towards the ritual circle, looking at the graphing and each individual line. Kali unlocked a memory, something that had been given and sealed within her rather than Lea. That is why Kali needed to go with Lea. Lea was the map to the treasure, but Kali was the key, without either of them, the treasure could not be attained. Kali retraced the circle with her blood. Thinking desperately on how to activate it, Kali stabbed her sword into the center, causing the entire circle to light up, ready to be used. Within the circle, a woman appeared before Kali, a woman with white hair and black wings.

"Hello Kali" The woman said smiling "You have solved the riddle, but you haven't completed the challenge"

"What do you mean?" Kali asked "Who are you?"

"I am Lea, well the original one, and I reside within this circle, waiting for you to attain the sword" Lea I explained "You do not have all the components yet though"

"What are these components?"

"Aether of both light and dark, you have provided this. Piece of a Kirin's horn, the essence of a spectre and a shard of a demon sword, you both have attained these things. However, the final components are the hardest to obtain"

"And those are?" Kali asked curiously

"The blood of a dragon, and the feather of an angel" Lea I said with a smile

Lea was distracted slightly by the sudden light flashing in the darkness, and she paid for her carelessness with a slash to her arm. Lea jumped back and clutched the wound with her guantlet, attempting to stiffle the pain, with no avail. Lea looked at Kaluoshen, he was certainly a powerful creature, skilled enough to fight her toe to toe and keep her on edge, and he also was strong enough to break past her durable body.

Lea observed his fighting style to be more erratic and random compared to his human form, constantly switching between attacks, with no clear pattern in mind. He could suddenly let loose slime or goop, possibly defean her with a roar or set the area ablaze with fire. Lea decided that using magic at the wrong times would be more trouble than good. She treaded carefully. The two paced in a circle, ready to see an opening in each other's form.

Lea didn't have time to worry about Kali, she didn't seem to be in any immediate danger. She had enough trouble keeping tabs on Kaluoshen and whenever he sense her falter, he would go in for the attack. She could tell right away that he was far more aggressive than his human form, who was usually on the defensive, this form has Lea stuck defending and had very little chance to turn the tides with a counter.

Lea jumped into the air and attempted a drop down slash, but Kaluoshen jumped up after her and slammed into her side with his heavy tail. Lea was sent crashing back into the ground, but she quickly recovered and began to strike at Kaluoshen again. Lea prepared another attack, this time with flames surrounding the blade, but Kaluoshen blocked the attack, but couldn't stop the flames from hitting him, leaving him slightly burned in appearance, and gave him a nasty feeling. Kaluoshen parried the blow away and span around to give Lea a horizontal slash, which she managed to dodge by a paperthin margin. Both warriors were fatigued, but neither was willing to back down, this was the final strike.

Kaluoshen reared up his head father than before and the flaps of skin and scales under his throat began to expand, displaying his next attack. Lea saw this and prepared her own strike. In an instant, the draconic flames met with the black aether flames and an immense explosion occured. The ending had Lea left standing, her body more durable in the end, but her breath was left ragged. She looked at what was left of her opponent, the lizardman's limp body was on the ground, just like hers, burnt. Lea smiled that she managed to defeat Kaluoshen's lizardman form, but her celebration was cut short when she saw the body begin to stir...

(Mana - 180 Health - 100)

[Kali]

"Dragon blood and angel feathers?" Kali asked exasperated "Those are almost impossible to come by"

Lea I shook her head from side to side and gave out a small sigh. It was obvious that she knew otherwise. Lea I lowered herself down to meet Kali's eyes.

"You're wrong on that part Kali" Lea I said with a smile "You have an angel right in front of you"

Lea I smiled as she pointed to where Lea and the lizardman were. Kali's eyes widened as she came to a realization.

"And you have a dragon right there" Lea I smirked

Kali moved her head quickly towards the pointed direction, and watched the horror that insued. The lizardman's body ruptured while it was on the ground, the force seemed to shake the earth itself. Soon the scaly body burst, emerging from it, came out a massive skeleton, easily identified as, a dragon. Kali watched as the gargantuan creature let loose a powerful bellow, shaking the earth with the force.

The skeleton was soon laced with a pink layer, from what Kali guessed was its muscle structure returning to it. Soon the scales of the lizardman's body expanded and covered the dragon skeleton, the result was a real life dragon. The dragon stood at immense height, its massive body was enough to completely smother Lea, who wasn't even as large as its toe. Kali immediately ran to her sister's side, but was stopped short by Lea I.

"Wait a minute Kali, you and Lea cannot take on that thing alone" Lea I said matter of factly

"What will I do then?!" Kali yelled out her question

Lea I held out a pendant, one with a rather strange design. It was very bright, more bright than a regular piece of metal should. Kali wasn't sure what to do with it. But Lea I quickly answered that.

"Let your blood soak on it, then say the words 'Those who are bound by my blood aid me in battle'" Lea I explained "You'll see the result soon enough"

Kali nodded and then made it to Lea, who was exhausted. Kali soaked her pendant with blood, ready to say the incantation if necessary. Kali sent Lea a message in her mind.

Nee-san, if we need help, I have a way of getting it Kali said But I don't know if I can trust that woman who gave it to me, she has white hair and had black wings.

Lea watched as the dragon formed itself in front of her, the sight was slightly disturbing and Lea was sprayed with dragon blood. Lea looked at her blood covered limbs with disgust, the blood didn't do anything to her, but everything else that was covered in blood melted away upon contact.

Great, now I have to fight this thing! Lea thought to herself, letting out an exasperated sigh.

Lea looked to Kali coming to her side, Lea saw that Kali was bleeding, with a shining pendant completely covered in blood. Lea raised an eyebrow when Kali said that she had a way to get help. Lea's eyes widened when Kali told her where she got the way from. Kali had gotten a pendant from the original Lea, the one that she was named after. Lea herself didn't know why Lea would help them, despite her creating the twins, she always had an ulterior motive. Lea looked back to the dragon and then to Kali again. As much as she didn't want to, they needed that little hope. Lea gave Kali a stare, showing that she was skeptical, but desperate.

"Do it" Lea nodded at Kali, then prepared her ready stance and charged at the dragon, jumping high into the air and slamming her sword into the dragon's head. The dragon's head went down showing that Lea still had some power on her side. The dragon moved his head up and head bashed Lea while she was still in mid-air. Lea flew high into the air, but managed to recover and extended her wings. "I'll keep it distracted"

[Kali]

Kali nodded at her sister's order, and took a deep breath. She remembered what she had been instructed to do, she took the pendant, now shining in a crimson light due to being completely soaked in Kali's blood and closed her eyes.

"Those who are bound by my blood aid me in battle" Kali chanted

In an instant, a flash of white light occured, and Kali looked out in surprise when the dust settled. In front of her was Kaluoshen's group. Kaluoshen, the woman with red hair, the woman with white hair, the unicorn like creature, and the lizardman all stood in front of her. Kaluoshen looked at Kali and gave her a smile, he extended his hand towards her.

"C'mon Kali, it is time for us to work together as a family"

Kali took Kaluoshen's hand and he brought her up to the front. Kaluoshen and the Lizardman nodded to each other and both charged at the dragon. The two seemed to work in complete sync and attacked the dragon simultaniously. The red haired woman transformed into a large sword and was picked up by the white haired woman, who rode on the unicorn creature. Kali tried to focus on the feeling she had, she knew these people, but something was blocking her mind. Kali eventually managed to break the mist around her memories and the memories flowed through her, millions of years coming back to her. Kali recognized the group right away. Kaluoshen the human and Kaluoshen the lizardman focused on the dragon's limbs, making it move around and try to stomp on them. Cecily and Rappa came from the top of the dragon and attacked its head and wings, which caused it to roar out in pain. Kaluoshen looked back at Kali and Lea and yelled out to them.

"Use your Excalbur attack!" Kaluoshen called out "Aim for its head!"

Kali reacted quickly and pulled back her sword behind her, charging light and aether into her blade. Kali took a deep breath and then put all of her power straight into a slash towards the dragon. A massive beam of energy came flying towards the dragon from Kali's sword, set to kill.

"EXCALIBUR!!!"

Lea obeyed Kaluoshen's order and raised her sword high into the air. The darkness and aether molded into her blade, transforming it into a massive claymore of dark flame. The black flames spouted out from the sword, burning the very air. lea launched the attack in an overhead slash, letting loose a massive torrent of black flame.

"EXCALIBUR!!!" Lea roared as she slashed. Kali and Lea's attacks molded together, creating a beam of light and darkness. The dragon roared as it was struck by the combined attack. The result was a massive explosion, spreading wide across the Northern Highlands.

When the dust settled, Lea looked at the shadow of the dragon behind the dust and mist. Lea breathed heavily, exhausted from using the attack so many times. lea believed that her attack had failed, but it was soon revealed when the clouds blew away. There in front of the group, stood the dragon. A large portion of its face was completely eradicated by the attack. It stood there, with death stillness, instantly placed within the stiffness of death. Lea landed onto the ground beside Kali, hugging her sister and landing on her rump, exhausted.

"We did it!" Lea said as she let out an exasperated sigh of relief "Now let's finish this up"

[Kali]

Kali nodded and walked past her family and former selves. She reached the dragon and slashed it with her blade. Blood soaked onto the blade, which Kali brought to the circle. Kali splattered the blood across the surface of the circle. The circle lit up in a crimson light, symbolizing that an objective was complete. Lea I appeared once again within the circle, her usual smile still remained.

"Well done" Lea I said clapping her hands, then reaching behind her, plucking a feather from her wing "Now for the last piece"

Lea I let her feather fall to the ground, watching it get absorbed into the circle. The result was a shining piece of metal emerging from the circle, it was some sort of hilt.

"Behold" Lea I said "The final piece"

Kali pulled Lea along, both of them with swords in hand. When they entered the ritual circle, Kali's sword transformed into the Jewel of Eden, while Lea's transformed into the Blade of Eden. Kali watched as the pieces of the Apple of Eden formed together, creating the divine sword. Lea I stood before the twins and spread her arms.

"Now" Lea I announced "It is time for you to do what you were destined to do, stab the blade through my heart and complete the quest, destroy the Apple of Eden. Kali nodded, picking up the blade together with Lea, both of them closed their eyes and drove the sword through Lea I's heart. The collision created a massive pillar of light, a light that could be seen all across the land, a beam that pierced the heavens themselves. One of the greatest weapons of all time, a blade able to kill gods, was destroyed. If one comes to the site where the light originated, nothing could be found. Nothing was left, Kali and Lea were nowhere to be seen.
