The Desert (past) Empty The Desert (past)

Post by Frost Sun May 09, 2010 12:01 pm

The desert was no place for a boy neither was it a place to live, trapping those unfortunate enough, inside by the same walls it created to scare invaders away. Stretching into the distance, trying to find someone that truly belongs with it or so they say. However, even in bad times the desert will always stay neutral, unpredictable, and stir its own way into the future. That been said it still is trapped by the wind, tearing it apart, creating sandstorm and other mischievous deeds yet they were friends.

Vorst laid still, covered in the sands warmth from the raging cold winds. It was night, and every living creature had awakened for it was the coldest time of the day. The desert ants, much bigger than your average ants, equipped with large pincers strong enough to tear apart flesh, but it’ passive nature made them harmless. Scrumming outside, fighting with each other just to see who would get out first. But it was also something else that made them so eager, they had a new neighbor, and a warm welcoming was needed. They crawled around Vorst, forming a circle as they kept a good distance between him, afraid that he might slaughter them all.

One of them went closer than the rest, its pincers barely touching Vorst. But the metallic coldness it carried startled Vorst, violently shaking the ground like a giant waking from its deep slumber. However, that one ant held its ground without any fear or hesitation, getting even closer. Vorst was now wide awake, petrified to find himself surrounded by tens and hundreds of those little buggers. He could tell most of them were afraid except this little one which had already climbed upon his cloth, inches away from his face.
He examined it closely, while it examined him as well. Starring deep into those blazing red eyes, feeling the frustration it felt. It wasn’t Vorst fault to begin with but they seem to think so. Moments pass, both of them still starring deeply into each other. The ant seemed to had given up, made its way down, digging, and disappears into the sand while others followed.

“Wonderful, it would seem that they’re quite found of you.” Said an unknown husky voice from behind.

It startled Vorst, as he looked back, shocked at the sight of it. It was nothing that he had ever seen throughout his entire life time except in books, golem. He recalled reading a book about them once but that was ages ago and everything seemed to be quite blurry at the moment. Virst gazed at the ancient remnant that stood before him. Its body glittered in the moonlit, the sight which would dazzle anyone. In a slight glimpse it quickly examined Vorst, it could feel the amusement Vorst felt from down there but wasn’t sure whether he could be trusted or not. The human army uniform Vorst wore made it quite unease. Never judge a book by its coverwas what he thought to himself. He bent down closer, getting a much better look at Vorst.

“What’s with all the excitement about?” It waited, without much response from Vorst it continued.

“Cat got your tongue? Well it’s nice to see that you’re alright and all, although you’re a human but being acknowledge by desert ants must be quite an experience, right?” Vorst still dumbstruck with awesomeness. Poor thing he must’ve been scared to death by those heartless warmongers, I can’t leave him all by himself, maybe mistress would like to keep him as her pet, no that’s not right. Thinking to itself, starring at the nighttime skies, searching for an answer deep within the stars.

The trickling soft wind, greeting the golem with answers as well as wonderful news that war had left the desert. It’s spirit raised, without a care in the world, getting hold of Vorst, tossing him high as he can, with a dumbfound expression on Vorst’s face. He decided to play along and laugh while the golem felt even more cheerful then before. The quick change of pace really felt odd to Vorst but it was worth letting some steam off. He landed on top of the golem’s shoulder as it began to run into the distance, retracing its trail back from which it came.

“What’s going on?” Vorst asked in a happy tone though his timing was quite bad.
“You can talk! Oh, such wonderful news. Mistress is going to be so pleased.”
“Hey what’s going on?”
“Off we go then.” The golem picking up even more speed than before, as sand clouds were left behind in its wake. Guess I’am not gonna get any answers anytime soon, might as well enjoy the ride. Vorst thought to himself not knowing where it was heading to.

(Vorst is currently in the past, what he does won't change the present nor will it have any effect in RP)

ride, Vorst thought to himself not knowing where it was heading to.
Moments later, they reached an oasis, nobody was there but them and a palm tree which grew near it, yet there was no water which he could see or heard. An awkward silence hung in the air as they got closer, the golem stopped in its track, waiting for something to happen yet nothing. Vorst hopped on down and landed without a sound. He rushed towards the oasis, digging his hands into the sand, desperately searching for water since he couldn’t even remember when he last drunk. He felt the soft cold sand, dancing through his hand.

The golem looked at Vorst with such curiosity that it made a small smile, hardly visible, covered in the stillness of its rough face. It continued to wait for something, occasionally looking back at Vorst, recalling at how simple life can be.

Vorst knowing it was easier to had slice through an entire cactus field instead of digging for water. He needed something to do to ease his mind. His mind often wondered back to those hellish times, getting half killed most of the times, tortured, and even frozen alive. Something bad was going to happen sometime soon and Vorst could feel it in his guts. He noticed a strange circle with writing’s he had never seen before, glowing, beneath the golem. It took notice of it as well, bending down, etching the circle; nothing happened, suddenly it shouted, “get back.” A bright light burst from beneath it, blinding Vorst as he squinted. The light soon faded, leaving what was left from the golem behind.

Vorst quickly unsheathed both of his weapons as he formed a stance. He slowly turned around, anticipating for an attack at any given time, making sure that whoever it was wouldn’t surprise him. He saw a black figure, running around, taunting him yet he held back. Then the same circle appeared before him. He swayed back but it followed him, turned around and began to run. He headed for the black figure which was running away from him. The circle soon stopped and exploded, sands were carried high in the air, pouring down on Vorst who had stumbled down. Another circle was closing in fast, he did the same thing, and the results were the same. Vorst calculated at how much time he had before they exploded and it wasn’t much. More and more circles were coming after him, bruises and cuts slowly appeared. He wasn’t sure how long he could take much more of this.

He pierced maher into the ground waiting for giant pillars of ice to emerge but nothing happen, he tossed dagger in the air aiming for the black figure but nothing happen, it was bad enough he didn’t know who he was fighting now he couldn’t even use magic. Damn, cursing at himself, as the endless onslaught continues, without much avail.

His entire body exhausted, wishing there was a way out of this. The attacker stopped for a moment, allowing Vorst to catch his breath. He watched the black figure, swaying its figure with the wind like a twig on a branch. A whisper reached into his ears, speaking in an alien language, probably not from this earth, he thought to himself with dignity that he might be fighting a real live alien, then again it could had been the wind.

By the time Vorst decided to move, he couldn’t, his legs were bound tightly on the ground. The dread feeling of death was already upon him, seeing as how a larger incantation circle had just appeared before him, defenceless. He held maher high above his head, hesitating. Seconds passed, the incantation circle was glowing brighter, and nothing else mattered. He struck the centre of it with all his might, hoping that it might work. Sadly it didn’t, bursting open contact, destroying maher into tiny little shards, as it penetrate Vorst’s body like a hot knife through butter. The sudden burst of energy was a lot less painful than he had thought.

Vorst found himself lying near the palm tree, his body completely numb and badly injured, somehow still carrying dagger and the remains of maher. He tried to stand up but was forced back down, looking upward at the black figure who kept its distance. He could hear its high pitched laughing, painfully tearing apart the silent night. Revenge Vorst could feel a sudden burst of energy dwelling inside him as he manages to stand straight up and walk. However, the sore strain of pains he felt every now and then was much more painful than before.

He somehow recalled an old memory, about an ancient sword technique which was passed down from generation to generation. Vorst mind all fuzzy and clouded, unable to think clearly as he marches onward. Exhaustion finally caught up again as he stumbled down upon his knees. The images were cleared this time, wave blade, a non elemental sword technique that uses mana. He sliced through the air while whispering wave. A wave like ripple occurred in the air, hardly visible by the human eyes, stretches in the distance but disappeared. His body falls down, his vision faded when shrieks of pain broke the silence with same high pitched voice and something soaring in the air, someone else was there.

Lyla hovers above them, silently humming to herself to lighten up the mood. She carefully searched around and peered off into the distance. Once she felt everything was safe, she came down, looking at the mutated golem, tears ran down her face as she quickly wiped them. She bends, etching her fingers upon its remains; suddenly they started to levitate in the air, swirling around like fishes in the sea. Dust clouds, emerges from below, covering the scene while loud banging sounds were heard from within. Moments later, two pair feet hang in the air as they gently glided down, revealing more and more of the golem old self. She looked upward into the dust clouds with a smile on her face, looking rather satisfied. She then left and headed towards Vorst who was out cold. She took a stick out of her pouch, poking Vorst with it. Vorst remained silent; Lyla however, was getting impatient. She held the stick high above her head, swinging it down with all her strength, breaking the stick in two yet nothing happen.

She came closer towards Vorst, her lips reaching his ears almost touching than she shouted, “GET UP YOU PIECE OF THRASH!” Vorst startled but couldn’t make any kind of movements, plainly opened his eyes.
“Good so your alive, well at least part of is that is, well half alive would probably more appropriate.” She said in an optimistic tone, tending to Vorst’s injuries. “Once, Rar is up, we can get going, so make sure you don’t fall asleep again since it might just be your last night with us.”

Lyla felt the odd climate change through her hands alone. That’s odd, since when did it get this cold, releasing her grip on Vorst, her hands slightly covered in a thin layer of ice coated with red blood as they brilliantly gleamed in the moonlight. “A child of ice.”She said with a curious tone. She looked at Rar who was busy moving every body part he had, checking each and every one of them to see if nothing wrong had happened. It got back up on its two feet, jumping up and down with glee.

“Rar, come here, I need you to carry the boy for me.” She said with a demanding tone, “Oh, what was it that you wanted to tell me.”

“It’s not of importance right now since the wind told me a wonderful lie.”

“Really now? What was it that would make you run all the way here, wait don’t tell the war is over right? Well that’s just a bunch of bull.”

“I’am sorry mistress, it won’t happen again.”

“No I’m not mad, more like pleased. The boy you brought is someone very special to me. Well let’s not waste time, before more of those bastards come.” She said in a serious tone and heads off into the distance.

The Desert (past) Empty Re: The Desert (past)

Post by Frost Mon May 17, 2010 4:57 pm

The night had long drifted away, carrying the cold soft air with it, the sun rose in its steed, pouring the warmth it had across the desert. Right in the middle of nowhere a house lay, hidden under layers of darkness, untouched by sunlight but so would. The house was quite small compared to most of the houses their which wasn’t much, broken pieces of metal were scattered near it, and an odd looking half buried statue oversees the entire house from a nearby cliff.

Lyla entered the house with Rar following close by, elegantly avoiding all the mess and quickly heads toward her work table which was covered in piles and piles of paper. She shoved them aside with such force as they scattered in the air and slowly fall onto the ground. She grabbed a piece of paper which was still in the air and begins to write.

Rar saw an empty bed in all the mess. Papers flew and things were falling with every step it took, leaving a huge mess behind. Rar gently bends down, putting Vorst in the bed as gentle as it can. Once it finished, its name was called. Rar clumsily tackle through the mess, hurrying towards Lyla; for it might be something important which hadn’t happened in a long time.

“You called mistress.” It said, adding with the most life like puppy dog face,” Mistress if it was about last night’s attack, I’m sorry. I was completely caught off guard.”

“Tell me, is your hands covered in ice.”

“Ice? I beg your pardon, but mistress.” It said with an odd expression, unaware of the ice which had frozen almost half its arm.

Lyla saw the blank expression it had and quickly looked at its arm. “Raw ice, wonderful.” She said in a happy tone with a wide smile across her face. She went back and writes again, happily humming to herself. Rar went back outside, placing himself near the half buried statue and stares into the sun because it can.

It was half past noon, Lyla had just finished writing. She peered outside through a crack on the wall, saw nothing unusual. It was times like these that brought back awful memories, wishing she had never made promises to anyone but herself.

She glanced at Vorst, asleep and almost lifeless; tiny little diamond started to take shape as it floated above his head. The seal place within him was starting to fade yet it was still intact and probably wouldn’t weaken anymore than it already is. She sighed and headed towards Vorst with a tired yet it had to be done kind of attitude. The harsh days was about to start with kicking in the afternoon. Her right leg coiled as far as it can, with loud thud and flipped the bed with Vorst buried underneath.

“What was that for?” Vorst shouted by the unannouce kick.

“Its peanut butter jelly time, eat your fill and met me outside, oh and try not to let those diamonds of yours touch any of my stuff.”

“Diamonds?”

Vorst did what he was told as headed outside with his mouth full. He saw Lyla waiting outside the desert yet it wasn't the desert he knew rather it was snowing outside, the fields painted white it was as if the entire world had just turned a new paper. He felt strangely at home there, the feeling he thought he had lost was there again within the snow, old memories laid. He walked towards Lyla still gazing at the snow like a little child lost in a crowd.

"Listen Vorst, back in the day I made a promise to her, one was that I'd take you under my wing until your needed." She said in a low voice wishing that this day never came, cursing at fate.

"Rar."
"Yes mistress." It appeared out of nowhere.
"Rar your in charge of his phsycal training, Vorst about once your done, come inside and I'll teach you a few things. Oh, take that seal of you before anything else happends" She hurried back inside as the snow covered her footprints.

Rar's body started to shift and crumbled, as it took a form of a mecha. A giant sword laid sheated on its back, standing tall like knight bathing in the snow. "Let's begin shall we." Its right hand reaching out for Vorst. Vorst just stood awestruck, unware of it had just said. Hours later Vorst was covered in blood, breathing heavily, his clothes ripped apart.

He stormed at it with one last push. Rar stood there, calm as ever, pulling its sword out of the ground as it parried Vorst's swing with ease. Vorst nearly stumbled from the impact alone yet he held his ground, stepping inside within range.Sword storm Somehow he felt much stronger than before, realising that he had was standing behind Rar, dagger enveloped in bright blue light, as he charges at Rar. However, Rar saw through it all, landing a fatal blow. Vorst could move nor could he react in time, all he could was just brace for impact. He felt the air pushed out of him. "We still have a long way to go." Vorst got back up and formed a fight stance.

Hours later, Vorst staggered inside. Lyla sat there without a care. "Let's get started shall we."

Lyla stared at Vorst with violent cold stared that reached deep within Vorst, leaving him naked upon her presence. She took her gloves off, revealing her hands, nearly visible by the human eyes. Her hands emitted cold gas which could be plainly seen, once it touches the floor, icicles started. The room temperature suddenly dropped lower than before, little ice fragments appeared as it took over the room. The entire room made a perfect mirror, reflecting them both. "Vorst, what is ice to you?"

Ice.. The question stucked deeply in his head, as it rampages through every possible corner there is within his head. Vorst stood there, lifeless.

Lyla impatient, slightly touched Vorst on the cheek. His upper body soon was covered in an icy diamond. "Listen the only way for you to understand ice is to be ice." A wide smirk appeared. "But if you fail, I don't mind having a mindless doll for me to keep." As kissed her on the lips, looking at his weary eyes. She happily skipped outside, leaving Vorst frozen alone.

It was his first time that someone had actually freezed him. The thing that strick him odd the most was how as he able to breath. He racked his brain with everything he had but found nothing worth while. The last strain of left him, feeling the coldness reaching the outer part. The ice, its ALIVE, wait that can't be right the icy diamond that had covered his entire upper body was no longer there. Instead his entire body had turned into ice, somthing like an ice sculpture only there was a single thread of life which made the difference.

Rar bewildered by Lyla's action. It couldn't do anything infront of her, to make things worse she hardly care for Vorst and was hoping for a mindless doll which could replace him anytime. The thought of being replaced and Lyla's idiocy made its brain hurt. It went where the half buried statue laid, sitting beside it looking at the empty sky. "Mistress what you did was unforgivable." Lyla slowly followed behind it, looking down all the while.
"Rar, I did what had to do. We both know our contract only last a couple of years before he goes off somewhere and I have to make sure he survives what ever happends in the future."
"Yes I do aswell, but the way your doing it is wrong."
"Than tell me how am I suppose to pass down ice magic that took me twenty years to master." She looked at Rar who couldn't even speak another word despite the truth her words had.

Lyla furious, left Rar on its own. She couldn't believe how a mere human soul could give a golem such power and basic human emotions. "If only... if only..." She grumbled to herself, heading towards Vorst who was still inside. She saw him but wasn't very amazed. "Vorst you have about a month to free yourself before this ice turns you into a mindless doll." She again left Vorst.

Rar was deep in thought, thinking some sort of way, where Vorst could easily train with it but won't be as injured as before. Lyla's right, the only would be to push his limits. It stood and prepared the training arena, ready for use when Vorst comes out.

One month had passed since then. Vorst woke up standing in the room, he had been there for a month but hasn't gotten the answer for Lyla's answer. He saw her sleeping before him, like an angel undisturbed. He couldn't resist to urge to kill her right there. Stalice Icy spears packed togather brusting from below and above her, she quickly undone the spell and reached out for Vorst with her naked hands, shimmering at the light. Vorst took a step back, using the unbalance of his body to counter with a kick. Ice Impact She took his kick in the face, the impact made her moved five step back but the ice hardly did any damage.
"You've learned a thing or to when I was away didn't you."
"And your the one who made me like this."
"Its not to your liking, well then I'll have you turned into a doll instead."

She clapped her hands togather, an ice arming sword took form in the air. She grabbed it, charges at Vorst with fullspeed. Diamond dust Once she was inches away from Vorst, her sword was stucked to the ground and her movement became stiff. Soon realizing that Vorst had somehow frozed most of her, she stepped back, removing the ice. "Let's do it again shall we." a small smile appeared on her face, awmused by Vorst and how much fun she was having.

Suddenly Rar bumped in, blocking them both. "Idiot, do you think I spent all month fixing the arena just to have him killed before he could even use it." It stared down at them both, like two little child getting scolded by they're parents. "Vorst, GET OUT and Lyla SHOVE OFF HIM." They both did what they were told and Vorst training had just begun.

The Desert (past) Empty Re: The Desert (past)

Post by Frost Wed Jun 02, 2010 2:14 pm

The outside had changed back to the way it was, a desert, nothing sands to see and a couple of old rubble here and there. Rar stood high, filled with pride in the middle of it all. Its armored shimmered in the sun, temporarily blinding anyone who sees it. Vorst didn't feel too well, his current body unused to the heat rays. Droplets of sweat streamed down, his clothe soaking wet. "First I got turned into ice, know I'am getting stuffed in the frying pan. Who do they think I'am, food." He thought to himself how awful it was.

Rar could see the painful expression he had written all over his face. Vorst took one exhausting step at a time as his body adjusted to the warm climate, when chain bursted from below, wrapping his body from head to toe. He couldn't move nor could he stand, falling down the ground with a thud. He struggled through the chains but instead it got tighter and tighter, almost chocking Vorst to death. "If you can't even get yourself out of this simple trap made for magic bearers, how on earth or you suppose to beat her." Rar pointed at the house where Lyla laid silently, waiting for her turn. "Ice magic won't work on these, they have a magic dispell enchanted on them."

Vorst looked hopelessly at the warm blue sky. "Dispell uh, then that means they need magic. What if somehow I hide my own mana." The idea seemed very odd but it was the only one he had left. He hesitated a bit, trying to hide his own mana, soon the chains loosened up, Vorst freed.

Rar could feel Vorst had turned back into a normal human being, though slight strains of mana still hung around him. "Good, now will be spending the next eight hours with me, another eight hours with Lyla and the rest resting."
"Wait, huh."
"She didn't tell you did she. Your in training camp. You'll spending the next five years with us."

(The time Vorst's spent here won't effect his current age until it needs to which will be soon anyway)
